To assist the facilities and procurement teams from The FCA in the preparation and management of a food service tender process to appoint a suitably qualified contractor.
Following the initial PQQ stage, six contractors were selected to respond to an RFP. The scope of the contract included a 250 seat staff restaurant, a 140 seat coffee/deli bar, 3 coffee pods, 78 conference and meetings rooms and the operation and maintenance of 60 beverage and snack machines.
The RFP responses were analysed for accuracy, relevance to the tender requests, innovation, financial submissions and value added services. Three contractors were selected to the shortlist stage. This included visits to contractors existing locations, presentations of their submissions and any clarifications that were necessary.
The outcome was the appointment of a new contractor for a four year contract term. The new contractor will introduce new menu ranges, including Street Food, a third generation coffee offer and a revised hospitality and meetings service.
