Vancouver Visit

30 Sep 2014 By Chris Brown

We like to think we know the cafes of our home city given our popular London Café Tours.  Time to stretch ourselves and see what is happening in the third most livable city in the world, Vancouver.

Cafes abound and all the trends seen here in London – café roasteries, quirky design, natural materials, great baking, donuts, fun signage – are here in Vancouver.  Check out our Great Cafes Blog posts for much of what we saw and have reported on.  We have made The Dirty Apron our Great Café of the Year 2014 with its kale salad, glass jars of ice cream, Pistachio Cream Cheese Brownies and Herb (pastry) Snails with smoked tomato salsa and cheddar.

Vancouver has 160 highly regulated Street Food units and we went on a guided Off the Eaten Track tour of the best examples.  We were so taken with the mobile/pop up/food truck scene and there is so much going on here in London that we have started a Great Street Food Blog – check out http://greatstreetfood.blogspot.co.uk/
