We have recently introduced an additional London tour to look at the new experiential-based dining and leisure activities that are leading the way as footfall drivers. For some years we have been running cafe tours, which continue to be in demand, however These Food Halls are combining bars food and entertainment in one location, using street food traders for their food, but they run the bars and the venues.
The customer is part of a larger experience, with great choice of multiple bars and food choices, and innovative food and design ideas.
The Market Hall in Victoria https://www.markethalls.co.uk/ , has space on 2 floors for 600 people, with a terrace opening this summer, and has 16 food traders, and is part of a group with 3 locations.
The Prince in West Kensington is part of https://incipio-group.co.uk/about which run several venues, with changing formats and traders.
Merco Metropolitan http://www.mercatometropolitano.co.uk/about/ in Elephant and Castle is large 45,000 sq/ft and encompasses everything that these venues are offering.
There are also the pure experience led these bars such as Flight in Victoria https://flightclubdarts.com/london/venues/victoria/ , is a darts led concept, ideal for groups and corporates. The Flight premises are large and have a good terrace area, the rent cannot be light, and the venue has to be taking £100k+ per week plus to stand still, which I understand they are achieving.
The common theme for all these operators is the use of old buildings, disused car parks, and essentially one step on from Boxpark, and in the case of Flight and Swingers, they are using design, multiple food and liquor offers to produce memorable experiences, which is what the Millennials are seeking.
